An hour on ZOOM to think through your choices, add some historical depth, and stop second-guessing your itinerary.
France rewards people who know where to look. But planning a trip here is genuinely hard — the country is too big, the choices too many, and most of the good information is buried under generic advice that could apply anywhere.
That's what this session is for.
I was born in France and live here now. For years I've been writing about French history, travel, and culture — not the postcard version, but the dense, complicated, often contradictory reality of the place. When you sit down with me on Zoom for an hour, you're drawing on all of that: the reading, the exploring, the years of thinking about what makes a trip to France genuinely worthwhile rather than merely pleasant.
I've also spent five decades traveling solo across 100 countries, which means I understand what it takes to plan a trip that actually works — not just one that looks good on paper.
The structure of your trip — not the surface details. We'll look at which regions make sense given your interests and timeframe, how to sequence your route, where people typically go wrong with pacing, and how to prioritize when you can't do everything. If history and culture matter to you, we'll make sure they're woven into the plan rather than added as an afterthought.
A short questionnaire before we meet, so the hour is focused from the start. Then 60 minutes on Zoom — just us, working through your specific plans. Afterward, a follow-up email summarizing the key recommendations so you have something concrete to work from.
Most people leave this conversation with a much clearer sense of direction, and with several decisions that had felt complicated suddenly becoming much easier.
This session is about the decisions that shape a trip before you ever book a hotel. It's not a full custom itinerary build, and it's not a booking or concierge service. Specific hotel and restaurant recommendations aren't the focus — the structure of your trip is.
One hour on Zoom — US$175
I open only a few sessions each week so I can prepare properly for each one.
Sessions are scheduled after payment so I can review your plans in advance.
After payment, you'll receive a personal email from me with the questionnaire and a link to schedule your Zoom session.
I usually send this within a few hours (time zone differences may occasionally make it a little longer).
